The Alderney Terrapin Rescue is managed by Dr Peter Bevis, a lifelong herpetologist, a retired zoologist and a Fellow of the Zoological Society of London (Elected 1980).
I visit the UK once or twice a year to collect terrapins needing a new life in Alderney. Should you be in no rush to rehome one or more terrapins, and be located in the UK, I may be able to help. Our rescue centre is primarily designed to re-home terrapins from the Channel Islands.
There are several terrapin rescue centres in the UK of varying qualities. Some are excellent but some are underfunded and lack space and facilities. Please consider carefully before making a decision based on your convenience rather than the needs of your pet. However, depending on your location, a UK based rescue centre may be able to offer more immediate help.
